●David Brown は、第2次大戦後、アストンマーチンとラゴンダを買収。その後、モータースポーツへの参戦をもくろみ、このDB MKII LMLモデルを開発。

After purchasing both Aston Martin and Lagonda following the cessation of World War II, David Brown decided to establish a works Aston Martin race team, and entered it into the first post-war running of the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1949. To this end, four Aston Martin DB Mk.II LMLs were registered on 26th April 1949. Three of them were finished in Almond Green with green canvas upholstery; these would be the works race cars. The fourth example was painted in maroon and featured a beige leather trim. Brown kept this one as his personal car!
