このTシャツは、「丸編み機」によって編まれたTシャツです。丸編み機は、生地を筒状に編み上げる旧式編み機です。生産効率は低いのですが、低速でゆっくりと編み立られ、余分なテンションがかからずに、糸そのものの柔らかい風合いを生かすことができる希少な編み機です。低速で編まれた生地は、温もりのある味わい深い表情に加え、しっかりとした着心地としなやかな柔らかさを兼ね備えています。そして、丸編み機で編まれたTシャツの最大の特徴が、ボディの脇部に縫い目がない、いわゆる「丸胴」に仕上がる仕様です。現在は量産を重視した高速の編み機が主流になり、丸編み機は時代遅れの技術とされつつあります。しかし、丸編み機で編まれたTシャツには、量産重視の高速編み機では出せない独特の風合いと時代を超えうるタフネスが宿っています。あえて生産効率の低い丸編み機で編むことで、空気を含んで柔らかくも、コシのある強い丸胴生地に編み上がります。また、はぎ目のない服なので、洋服の縫い目が肌に当たらず着心地も良い利点もあります。

この製品には、ワンウォッシュ加工がかけられています。そのため、生地には程よいオールド感とヴィンテージ感が生まれ、クラシックな印象を与えるTシャツに仕上げられています。また、ワンウォッシュですでに生地の縮みが発生しているので、洗濯後の縮みが少なくサイズ感が安定しているのも利点のひとつです。

ネックリブ(襟周り)は着用を繰り返しても伸びにくい特徴を持つ、耐久性に優れたバインダーネック2本針仕様です。

グラフィックはプリントで表現されています。

アメリカ合衆国第5空軍のモスキートスコードロンをモチーフにしたミリタリーデザインです。朝鮮戦争で活躍した第6147戦術統制グループは、蚊の如くいつ何処から現れるか予測がつかないため「モスキート」のニックネームを持っていました。1954年2月、マリリン・モンローが日本への新婚旅行の途中、米兵士を慰問に韓国のエアベースを訪れました。米空軍は彼女のために駐留部隊のモスキートパッチの付いた専用のフライトジャケットB-15Cを用意して、大女優の慰問を歓迎しました。それ以来、モスキート部隊は活躍も然ることながら空軍史上において今も尚語り継がれる部隊となりました。

This product is a short-sleeved T-shirt designed by Buzz Rickson, a division of Toyo Enterprises, featuring a military graphic printed on a US-made, 100% cotton, heavy-weight, tubular knit fabric constructed using the loop-wheel method. This T-shirt is made from 100% cotton, featuring a heavy-weight loopwheel-knitted soft jersey fabric with a slightly slubby and rugged texture for added character. And this T-shirt features a tubular knit loopwheel construction with no side seams, cover stitch ribbed crew-neckband and set-in-sleeve. And this tee shirt has been applied a printed design that pays homage to the United States military. The graphic design of this T-shirt is inspired by the Mosquito Squadron of the 6147th Tactical Control Group from the 5th Air Force of the Far East Air Forces during the Korean War. Fabric : Fabricated on loop-wheeling loom. Made of a 100% cotton, heavyweight loopwheel knitting soft jersey fabric with a slightly slubby and rugged texture. This T-shirt deliver the perfect combination of durability and natural softness for comfort. Additionally, this T-shirt is pre-washed (one-washed) in the finishing process to give it a vintage appearance and minimize shrinkage.

Body : Tubular construction (No side seam construction). Made on loop-wheeling machine which knit the fabric in a seamless continuous tube. The fabric is produced with minimal tension during knitting process and lack of seams means the garment will keep its shape through wear and washing. It combines durability and the natural softness for comfort. Loop wheeling looms are special machines that are able to knit a perfect tube, but they can only knit one set diameter (size) per loom, so a loom for each size is required. This is why one hardly ever sees perfect tube construction in modern day garments.

Collar : Ribbed crew neck with bound neckband (cover stitch neckband with double stitching). It used for the neck to prevent overstretching.

Cuff : Unbanded cuffs for full range of motion.

Closure : Pull on closure. Pull-over.
